No 2 (still trying to think of a name) has been sitting in the keg while we were away, but tonight seemed like a good time to test it. I got the keg up on a usable surface, took one of my faithful old Saltaire glasses out to the garage and fired away. It's lively - the pressure caught me surprise, but once I got the hang of the tap, it poured clear and bright and tastes pretty good - the bitterness has subsided a little as might be expected but is still there, and there's a hint of fruit and a hint of that elusive smoky dryness. In all then, I'm very happy with how it's turned out, and it's given me confidence and inspiration to go on. Now I just need to clear out the garage.
